Sell Your Junk Car Anywhere in Indiana

No matter where a vehicle is located, our service reaches sellers across Indiana. We purchase used and junk cars in every part of the state, from cities and suburbs to small towns and rural back roads, and we arrange pickup wherever the seller is located. That includes areas near the Ohio River in the south as well as communities close to Indiana Dunes along Lake Michigan in the north. Some vehicles are in busy neighborhoods, others sit on quiet county land, and we cover both without limiting our reach to a few local markets. Across central Indiana, in farming areas, near wooded regions, and out toward the state line in any direction, we can buy vehicles and coordinate pickup at the location provided. Whether the car is parked at a residence, on private property, or in a more remote part of the state, we provide coverage throughout Indiana with pickup arranged where the seller has the vehicle.

Payment is made when we pick up the vehicle and complete the collection. At that point, we finalize the transaction and pay you at pickup.

From Totaled to Used: Indiana’s Any Condition Car Buyer

At Auto City Salvage, we buy vehicles from sellers across Indiana in all kinds of everyday situations. Some people have an extra car that has been parked for months and never gets used. Others are dealing with an older vehicle that has become unreliable and no longer feels worth keeping on the road. We also hear from owners whose needs have changed after a move, a new job, a growing family, or a recent retirement, and the vehicle they have no longer fits how they live. In some cases, the car belonged to a relative and is now sitting unused while the family decides what to do with it. Some sellers are done paying insurance and registration on something they do not drive. Others are simply ready to clear space and be rid of a vehicle that has become a burden. We buy cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs whether they are still being driven every day or have been sitting in a driveway, garage, lot, or field for a long time. That includes vehicles that are worn, damaged, or non running, but just as often we buy vehicles from people who are not dealing with a major breakdown and just want a straightforward sale. One owner is replacing an older car before it causes more trouble. Another has a second vehicle nobody in the household uses anymore. Some people have already bought something newer and want the old one gone without wasting more time on it. We keep the process simple for sellers across the state and work with vehicles in any condition because for many people, the reason for selling has less to do with the car itself and more to do with the fact that it no longer has a place in their life.

From Sedans to Pickup Trucks, We Buy Vehicles Across Indiana

At Auto City Salvage, we buy the vehicles people rely on every day across Indiana. That includes personal transportation such as sedans, compact cars, coupes, and hatchbacks, along with practical options that fit a range of daily routines. We also purchase broader passenger vehicle categories, from small commuter cars to larger family focused models.

Many of the vehicles we buy are built for households and regular travel. SUVs, crossovers, minivans, and station wagons are common choices for families, and we purchase them throughout Indiana. We also buy convertibles and other passenger vehicles that drivers use for seasonal travel, weekend use, or everyday driving.

Our buyers also work with owners of vehicles made for jobs, hauling, and utility needs. We purchase pickup trucks, cargo vans, and other work vehicles used by contractors, delivery drivers, and small business owners. Utility focused transportation is part of what we handle, whether that means a light duty truck for daily tasks or a van used to move tools, equipment, or supplies.

Understanding Junk Car Market Values in Indiana

In Indiana, the value of a junk car depends on what the vehicle still offers after its usable life on the road is done. A newer car with less damage usually brings more than an older one that has major mechanical problems or heavy body wear. The type of vehicle also matters because some models hold stronger parts demand, while others are valued more for the metal they contain. If the engine, transmission, wheels, or catalytic converter are still present and in usable shape, the offer tends to be stronger. Scrap market conditions also affect price because the value of the metal inside the vehicle rises and falls over time. Weight plays a role for the same reason, since larger vehicles often contain more recyclable material than smaller ones. In some cases, a badly damaged car still carries decent value if its parts are common and people need them, while a complete vehicle with little resale demand can come in lower than expected. Title status, missing components, flood damage, fire damage, and how hard the vehicle is to move also shape the final number. That is why two junk cars of the same age can bring very different offers in Indiana.

How to Get a Duplicate Title in Indiana

In Indiana, the owner listed on the vehicle title must apply for a duplicate title through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. To get one, complete the Application for Certificate of Title for a Vehicle, Form 205, and pay the duplicate title fee. If the title is being mailed to an address that is different from the address on BMV records, the owner must first update their address with the BMV. If there is a lien on the vehicle, the lienholder information must be included and the duplicate title is generally sent according to lien status on the record.

  • Complete Form 205, the Application for Certificate of Title for a Vehicle. Enter the vehicle information, owner information, and lienholder details if a lien is recorded.
  • Submit the application to the Indiana BMV and pay the duplicate title fee. Apply online if eligible, visit a BMV branch, or mail the completed form to the BMV with payment if mailing is allowed for your situation.
  • Receive the duplicate title from the BMV after processing. If there is no lien, the title is issued to the owner of record. If a lien is recorded, issuance follows the lien status shown in the BMV record.

How to Correctly Complete a Title Transfer in Indiana

Signing over a vehicle title in Indiana means the seller completes the ownership section on the title and gives the signed title to the buyer so the buyer can apply for a new title and registration. The seller should review the title carefully before writing anything. Use the names exactly as shown on the front of the title, complete all required blanks, and write clearly in ink.

  • Check the title before signing. Confirm it is the correct Indiana title for the vehicle and that the vehicle information matches the car, including the VIN. If there is a lien listed, make sure it has been released before the sale. If more than one owner is named on the title, each required owner must sign as listed.
  • Complete the seller section on the title. Enter the sale date and the odometer reading if the title includes an odometer area to complete. The seller signs on the line marked for the seller and prints their name if the title asks for it. The buyer should also complete any buyer information required on the title, using their legal name and current address as requested.
  • Give the buyer the signed title and any related sale documents. A bill of sale is often helpful for the buyer’s records, even when the title is the main ownership document. The buyer then takes the signed title and supporting paperwork to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles to transfer the title into their name.

Do not erase, cross out, or write outside the required sections of the title. If a mistake is made, the seller should get guidance from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles before completing the transfer.
